Support service for citizen led renovation

Th!nk E was selected to execute the contract exploring the diverse concepts and their potential for citizen led renovation, i.e. a concept where energy communities are supporting citizen in the uptake of mainly residential renovation, generally in collaboration with experts such as from one-stop shops. The tender will be executed with several European partners, and aims to deliver concepts and recommendations based on 2 pilots and a diversity of engaged communities and initiatives through a Lighthouse & Followers board.

The Smart Cities Marketplace plays an important role in speeding up the green transition of cities in Europe by improving citizens’ quality of life, increasing the competitiveness of European cities and industry as well as reaching European energy and climate targets.

It complements current EU efforts such as RePowerEU with a complete catalogue of offers such as calls for free technical assistance, 1-to-1-consultancy services for city-led consortia close to the financing stage, financing masterclasses and a fine-tuned matchmaking for the financing of urban projects and intensified partnerships with other EU initiatives, such as the Covenant of Mayors, Scalable Cities, CIVITAS, Living-in.eu.

The Covenant aims to be a community of companies and supporting entities who have made a pledge to reduce their fossil energy footprint.

In English common law, a ‘covenant’ is distinguished from a standard contract by the presence of a wax seal on the agreement, symbolising the elevated sincerity of the commitment of the parties to the covenant.

Our mission statement is quite simple: it is to help companies and numerous supporting entities to decarbonise their energy footprint, by guiding them to define and then implement emissions reduction goals that are manageable, attainable and aligned with their level of ambition.
