Introduction

Citizen-led renovation (CLR Phases I & II) supports a shift from top-down renovation approaches to bottom-up, citizen-led renovation by strengthening the capacity of local actors to organise and manage collective renovation initiatives.

Approach

The project works with pilots, learners, followers and an enablers’ network across Europe to support communities, cooperatives and municipalities  involved in renovation. CLR combines technical, legal, financial, governance  and community-engagement support, delivered through hands-on technical  assistance and practical, locally adapted tools. The project also generates  structured insights into barriers, realistic conditions for progress and  policy recommendations based on direct work with pilot initiatives.

Our role

Th!nk E is coordinatingthe project and contributes to the design and delivery of hands-on support to pilot initiatives, learners and followers, focusing on capacity building, coordination and practical guidance. This includes contributing to technical assistance activities, development of tools and guidance materials, facilitation of knowledge exchange, and synthesis of insights from pilot experiences into structured outputs and policy-relevant findings
