Introduction
ClimaGen is a Horizon Europe project supporting European cities in their transition toward climate neutrality and climate resilience through inclusive, nature-based urban transformation. It focuses on urban greening and renaturing to promote climate-resilient regeneration, particularly in vulnerable neighbourhoods.
Approach
The project combines integrated renaturing solutions (ClimaGreens), co-creation processes (ClimaLabs), and impact assessment tools (ClimaImpact) to guide evidence-based decisions. Five Demonstration Cities implement large-scale nature-based measures while four Replication Cities test approaches for future rollout, with citizen engagement supported through gamified participation tools, City Dialogues, and cross-cutting Sense-Making Sessions.
Our role
Th!nk E leads WP4 (ClimaValue), coordinating project-wide communication, dissemination and exploitation, and developing policy guidance, advocacy materials, and mission alignment strategies. This includes leading capacity building for demonstration and replication cities, organising Sense-Making Sessions and cross-city learning workshops, steering the ClimaGen Guidance Package, and connecting the project with the EU Missions, the New European Bauhaus, and other EU-wide initiatives.
