The Smart Cities Marketplace (SCM) is a European Commission initiative that supports project concepts in clean energy, sustainable urban mobility, and digital solutions to accelerate cities' transition towards climate neutrality. It offers tailored matchmaking services for cities and city consortia at various stages of project preparation, as well as for investors seeking smartcity proposals.

Approach

Cities, city-led consortia, and investors can engage through a structured journey from exploration and learning (Explore), through project ideation (Shape), to targeted technical assistance and investor matchmaking (Deal). This graduated support structure ensures that participants receive the right level of guidance to make their projects bankable and fundable.

Our role

Th!nk E serves as subtask lead for technical  assistance and the network of experts, coordinating the support offered to cities across energy, urban mobility, and digital solution topics. This includes managing the delivery of 1-to-1 advisory services and drawing on Th!nk E's expertise in technical, legal, and policy dimensions of smart city transitions.
